6mm Thick Shell
The Rhinox 5 to 8 ton tilt grading buckets are constructed from 6mm thick steel with 6mm thick, angled rear shell. This design is tailored to withstand grading harsh materials, like gravel, pea shingle or unscreened soil. By manufacturing from 6mm thick steel, we ensure that your bucket retains its shape and structural integrity over time, minimising the chance of distortion or cracking.
Reinforced Structure
Although not designed for bulk moving or demolition, Rhinox tilt grading buckets are built for durability and strength. Our 5 to 8 ton tilt buckets feature a reinforced structure to withstand demanding tasks, including a pivot reinforcement plate that strengthens the centre pivot pin, preventing potential damage from pressure build-up. Due to their intricate design, the tilting components of an excavator tilt bucket are more susceptible to damage than the bucket itself, which is why Rhinox tilt buckets feature extra reinforcements for added durability. Our 5 to 8 ton tilting buckets incorporate 12mm thick hanger support gussets and 10mm ram support gussets to support and prevent against damage. Since tilt grading buckets are wider, we have reinforced the centre with 12mm thick ribs - one rib on the 5 to 6 ton model and two ribs on the 7 to 8 ton model. These ribs help prevent bending or distortion over time while reducing stress on key hanger components, ensuring a robust and long-lasting design.
HB250 Lip Plate / Cutting Edge
Our 5 to 8 ton tilt grading buckets are made with a HB250 lip plate and optional HB250 bolt-on blade. We chose to harden both components to maximise the longevity of the cutting edge, reducing downtime and maintenance costs over time. HB250 is known for its exceptional strength and wear resistance, allowing the bucket to last longer. For added durability, you have the option to add a HB250 bolt-on cutting edge. The bolt-on blade can be easily replaced when worn - replacements available from Rhinox.
Additional Wear Protection
For further wear protection, Rhinox 5 to 8 ton tilting buckets feature a 15mm leading edge - nearly three times thicker than the standard bucket shell - slowing wear and tear to the front of the bucket. To further enhance durability, the angled rear shell is reinforced with a 5mm Rhinox wear badge, offering extra protection to protect from wear when specifically used in grading jobs.
Rams & Greasing Points
The Rhinox 5 to 8 ton tilt grading buckets are designed with two rams, allowing the bucket to tilt 45 degrees both left and right (total of 90 degrees). For optimal performance and longevity, these buckets are equipped with a 1/8" BSP grease nipple on the pivot pin, ensuring proper lubrication for smooth tilting and reduced wear. Additionally, there are two 1/8" BSP grease nipples on each end of the rams, providing essential lubrication to ensure they also operate smoothly and efficiently when tilting.
Hydraulic Hoses
Rhinox tilt buckets connect to your excavators standard auxiliary hydraulics and comes with hydraulic hoses from the ram port to the bulkhead fitting. However, as auxiliary port locations vary by machine make and model, we have chosen not to supply the main hydraulic hoses that connect the attachment to your excavator with our 5 to 8 ton tilt ditchers. We recommend consulting your local hydraulic specialist to source the correct hose length for your excavator. You will need two hoses with 3/8" BSP female swivel fittings on one end to connect to the attachment, and the appropriate quick connect coupling to match your excavator's auxiliary connector on the other end.
