This Rhinox 18" wide, S45 utility digging bucket is designed to be compatible with 5 to 9 ton excavators equipped with Engcon, Kinshofer Nox, Rototilt and Steelwrist tilt rotator couplers.
Rhinox S45 tilt rotator utility buckets are standard Rhinox Digging Buckets fitted with a Rhinox Uni-tusk Blade. Rhinox Utility Buckets are ideal for excavation tasks around underground utilities, where precision and accuracy are essential. The Rhinox Uni-tusk Blade is made from durable, cast steel and features curved edges instead of the pointed corners found on standard bolt-on blades or cutting edges. The blade profile helps reduce the risk of cable strikes while also protecting the bucket's lower leading edge from wear. Rhinox S45 Tilt Rotator Utility Buckets are commonly used on utility and infrastructure projects where toothed digging buckets are not permitted to help reduce the risk of damaging buried services.
Disclaimer: The Rhinox Uni-tusk Blade is intended as a preventative tool and should only be used after CAT scanning for cables and checking for other utility lines.
Our range of S45 tilt rotator utility buckets are made with durability in mind, featuring a HB250 lip plate, wear straps on the underside of the bucket for maximum wear-resistance, while the leading edges are more than twice as thick as the bucket shell, ensuring maximum wear resistance.
Other cutting edge options are available: Rhinox JCB-style bolt-on teeth or HB250 bolt-on blade.

Contact UsThe Rhinox Utility Bucket / Uni-tusk blade is best used for digging around underground services where safety and wear resistance is critical. They are specifically designed for trenching and general groundworks in areas where there is a high risk of striking buried infrastructure. The curved, toothless design helps the bucket skim over or deflect underground conduit, cables and pipes rather than piercing them. At the same time, the HB550 hardened steel provides extreme wear resistance, making it ideal for abrasive digging conditions where standard bolt-on edges or bucket teeth would wear quickly.
The Rhinox Uni-tusk blade is made from high-grade, cast steel and heat treated to a hardness of HB500 (Hardened Brinell). As a cast component rather than one fabricated from steel plates, hardening additives are introduced during manufacturing to strengthen the blade. The Uni-tusk blade is then heat treated to further enhance hardness, resulting in exceptional wear resistance. This combination of casting and heat treatment produces a blade that is significantly tougher and more durable than conventional bolt-on cutting edges, helping your bucket last up to 4 to 6 times longer.
The Rhinox Uni-tusk blade is only supplied as a bolt-on system - we do not offer a weld-on option. This design is intentional to make maintenance quick and straightforward, allowing you to simply undo the bolts and replace the blade when it becomes worn, without any cutting or welding required. If you choose to weld a Uni-tusk blade onto your bucket, this is done at your own discretion. However, this will be treated as a modification of your Rhinox bucket and will void any warranty.
In most cases, no. The Rhinox Uni-tusk blade is designed specifically to fit Rhinox excavator buckets, so is not universally compatible with non-Rhinox excavator buckets. The Uni-tusk blades secures by sliding over both the lip plate and leading edge of the bucket and bolting through pre-drilled holes, meaning the internal width, lip plate thickness and hole positions are all engineered to match Rhinox bucket specifications. Because other manufacturers use different bucket dimensions and bolt hole layouts, a non-Rhinox bucket may not align correctly, preventing proper installation or secure fitting. For this reason, the Rhinox Uni-tusk is generally only compatible with Rhinox buckets.
