WHAT CAN I USE A CONCRETE POURING BUCKET FOR?

A concrete pouring bucket is an excavator attachment designed to transport and accurately pour concrete into locations that are difficult to reach with traditional methods, like a concrete pump. For example, in an area with unstable soil, a boggy site or a tight housing plot. A concrete bucket is commonly used for pouring foundations, footings, slabs, retaining walls and pouring pea shingle into drainage trenches. They are the preferred option for smaller projects where hiring a concrete pump would be impractical and not cost-effective.

HOW DOES AN EXCAVATOR CONCRETE BUCKET WORK?

An excavator concrete pouring bucket attaches directly to a hydraulic quick hitch and is loaded with wet concrete from a concrete mixer truck. The operator positions the bucket over the pour area and tilts it forwards to begin pouring. After completing the pour, the bucket is tilted back and refilled ready for the next pour. This controlled motion allows for accurate concrete placement, minimising spillage or overpouring.

CAN AN EXCAVATOR CONCRETE BUCKET REPLACE A CONCRETE PUMP?

An excavator concrete pouring bucket can replace a concrete pump for many small to medium-sized concrete pours, particularly on sites where access is limited or the cost of hiring a concrete pump is difficult to justify. While concrete pumps may remain the preferred option for high-volume or long-distance concrete pours, an excavator concrete bucket offers a cost-effective alternative for foundations, footings, slabs and general construction projects. HOW DO YOU CLEAN A CONCRETE POURING BUCKET?

Cleaning an excavator concrete pouring bucket is simple. After completing your pour, wash the bucket with water to remove any remaining concrete before it begins to set. Pay particular attention to the chute and gate areas to prevent concrete build-up. Regular cleaning helps avoid hardened concrete accumulating, which can add unnecessary weight to the attachment, reduce bucket capacity and impact safe lifting performance.
