Lost your Manual Quick Hitch / Quick Coupler Bar? - What should you do now?

One of the most important parts of your Manual Quick Hitch / Quick Coupler is the Lever Bar. This bar slots into the latch of your hitch and allows you to manually open and close the latch, securing the pins of your buckets and attachments in place - or releasing them. But if you're reading this post you probably already know that...

If you lose, damage or misplace your Lever Bar it can make changing your attachments a lot more difficult - you've probably figured that out by now too. Some people tend to use items that they have to hand. This can be anything from a screwdriver to a piece of rebar (a bar of reinforcement steel used as a tension device in concrete). On average a Quick Hitch Lever Bar is around 20mm in diameter and made of strong steel. The bar has been designed like this to efficiently carry out the job it's required to do which makes the bar a very strong piece of equipment. Using something smaller and less substantial, like a screwdriver, could cause potential damage to the hitch or to the operator trying to use it if it slips, snaps, shatters or something similar.

Because of this, we would recommend that you don't use anything other than a Quick Hitch Lever Bar - they are usually supplied with your Hitch when you purchase. We know how difficult it is to keep track of small pieces of equipment like this, so Rhinox manufacture and distribute Lever Bar Holders that come as standard with your Lever Bar and Quick Hitch when purchased directly from us.

How would we recommend using the Lever Bar Holder and how will they benefit you?

So that you don't lose the Lever Bar, we would recommend that you always return your bar into your holder when finished with it - this stops you forgetting where you've put it or potentially losing it. You might be thinking, what if I lose the holder? We recommend that you attach your holder somewhere within the excavator so that it cannot get lost. As well as having somewhere memorable to store it, it also means that if you're a hire company or you rent your machine out, it is easy for you to check to see if your customers have returned your machine with the Quick Hitch Lever Bar and saves you having to purchase another.

Although this idea seems logical, it is possible that you may still misplace your bar and may need a replacement. You can purchase a new Lever Bar or Lever Bar and Holder from our website here.
