Fully Electric Excavator - NEW Takeuchi TB20e Electric Mini Excavator

Takeuchi TB20e

Takeuchi have recently launched the first 100 units of their NEW fully electric TB20e Compact / Mini Excavator. These new machines have been shipped to North America and will soon be available for use at a select number of United Rentals locations. These new machines are Takeuchi's very first fully battery-powered excavators - the first of a full line of fully electric products that Takeuchi hope to develop.

As the world of electric cars (and similar) continue to grow, Takeuchi have taken the step to meet the growing desire from customers of fully electric machines. They have dabbled in Hybrid machines in the past, creating the TB210 and TB216 Diesel Hybrid Excavators. As well as meeting the demands of customers, they have claimed they want to meet their own goals for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) by making their products more environmentally friendly while maintaining the power and performance that operators love and expect from Takeuchi machines.

The NEW Takeuchi TB20e Electric Excavator

The TB20e has been designed and developed to work similarly to the current TB216 Hybrid in terms of power and performance but this new model runs 100% of it's power from a battery. No more exhaust emissions and a reduced level of noise and vibration compared to the hybrid model, as the only noise comes from the motor and pumps. The Vice President of United Rentals has exclaimed that they are pleased to be able to offer their customers a more sustainable equipment option, that is also more cost efficient to operate. With this battery-powered excavator you no longer need to worry about maintaining fuel filters, engine oil, coolants etc.

Inside the cab of the excavator, the machine has a 4.3" high-definition, multifunction monitor which displays the Takeuchi Fleet Management information, such as: providing remote machine diagnostics and a maintenance schedule. Alongside information like location, run time (hours) and machine health. Other internal cab features include: electrohydraulic joystick controls, electronic dial throttle, key start and your standard movement and blade control levers and suspension seat.
