Second Hand Digger Buckets Vs Buying New

Is there really much benefit of buying a second hand or used digger bucket vs buying one new?
It is a regular occurrence, that we get asked here at Rhinox, whether we sell used digger buckets as well as new ones as, and I quote, ‘I don’t want to pay the full price for a brand new bucket’. We do not sell any buckets second hand, and the reason why is quite simply how cost effective it works out. And that’s not a benefit to us, that is a benefit to our clients.
Just like buying a second hand car, the reason they are cheaper than a brand new one is because they have already been used, and have already succumb to wear and tear. Obviously this means part of the bucket lifetime has already been used up. Not only this, but everyone knows that you can never get the same result from an older bucket like you can with a new ones, especially when it comes to grading!
One of the key selling points of a Rhinox Bucket, how much effort we put in to increase the life time of the bucket, and making sure you certainly get your money’s worth out of it! Whether it is a grading bucket / ditching bucket, digging bucket, or Riddle bucket, a lot of time and thought has gone in to the designing process to make sure the bucket really does last as long as physically possible. Regardless of this, there is a reason the digger buckets and attachments are referred to as a ‘wear part’
I spend a lot of time browsing eBay, looking for products and comparing prices, and often find myself looking at what digger buckets are available second hand. The thing that amazes me most is that the prices of the second hand buckets is not much cheaper than what is available on our website, often collection only as well! Whereas Rhinox will ship buckets and attachments just about anywhere in the world! – Anything to save a few bob though, right? No more than 2 months ago, I saw a full set of JCB 3CX buckets on eBay that were actually £32 more expensive than if they had bought new from our web shop.
If you are looking at buying a second hand bucket, please consider changing your mind to buying new. While you can save a few quid in the short term, the long term benefits definitely out-weigh the few quid you have saved.
