The Rhinox uni-tusk blade has been designed as a preventative measure for utility work, helping to reduce the risk of underground cable strikes. It’s estimated that around 60,000 underground cable strikes occur every year in the UK. Digging bucket teeth are a leading cause of these strikes, often piercing cables during digging, which is why many utility contractors now require buckets to be used without teeth to minimise this risk. Rhinox developed the uni-tusk blade to be used instead of teeth, with the rounded edges specifically designed to deflect away from cables while also reducing wear on your bucket edges. Made from durable cast steel, the Rhinox uni-tusk is a bolt-on blade, offering both safety and longevity for your digging buckets. The Rhinox uni-tusk is available for 1.5 to 4 ton excavator digging buckets, in widths of 9” or 12”. You can purchase a uni-tusk pre-installed to your bucket or as a standalone blade option. Disclaimer: The uni-tusk blade is intended as a preventative tool and should only be used after CAT scanning for cables and checking for other utility lines. |
