These shims are placed between the digger bucket or quick hitch and the dipper end / bucket link to fill any gaps, preventing movement and play during operation. Shim washers are manufactured to precise thicknesses to allow you to stack to the exact thickness required to effectively fill the slack. If attachments are not securely fitted to the digger, the resulting slack can cause wear on excavator buckets, attachments, bucket pins, tipping links and the dipper end.
