Are you considering purchasing a Rhinox Grading Bucket / Ditching Bucket but want to know more about the key features and how they can benefit you? This post is for you. We're going to discuss the 8 Key Features that we have manufactured in our buckets and how these features are going to benefit you! Keep reading to find out more, or watch the video below.
The Rhinox Grading Bucket is made with bossed hangers and removable pins so that when the pins become worn - which they will - they are easy to replace. Often other manufacturers weld in the bucket pins but this means that when the pins wear, the bucket is effectively scrap - unless you're able to do the welding and reconstruction work to replace the hangers.
A lot of excavator buckets are made with top tube and shell designs, this means there are multiple joins that must be welded. Our One Piece Shell Design is made without a top tube, this means that the bucket only requires one weld along the front of the top of the bucket. The more joins there are the higher the chance of having a weld fail when in use so we have kept ours down to a minimum. Our design means there is a front facing weld along the top of the bucket which is easily accessible by the welder so that they can get a strong weld to maximise the strength of your bucket.
The downside of a wider bucket is that the centre can weaken or bend over time. So, to combat this issue, we manufacture our Grading Buckets with a centre fin to support the bucket while in use and maximise the strength of the structure and extending the life of your bucket. Some of our Grading Buckets are made with one centre support, and some are made with 2 centre supports - this depends on the size of your bucket as the bigger the bucket gets the more support it needs!
Buckets that are consistently used in harsh conditions will tend to wear down the front edges of the bucket faster - due to the friction with rough surfaces. To help deal with this, Rhinox have reinforced this leading edge with thickened steel, making it 3x thicker than the shell of the bucket. As you can imagine, this dramatically increases the durability, resistance and strength of the front edge of your bucket to help protect it from wearing.
Similarly, to the Leading Edge, the sides of a bucket also face a lot of contact with rough surfaces which can cause uneven wear and tear. The Rhinox Grading Bucket is manufactured with a plate in the shape of the Rhinox logo on the side - this is designed to double up as a wear protection to help reduce the amount of wear and extend your bucket's lifetime.
Digging in different conditions can cause material or dirt to clog up in the bucket. Our 2 Ton and above Grading Buckets have been made with drainage holes to allow the pressure to be released so the material can fall out easily. They also allow water to run out when digging in trenches or clearing debris, so you can remove any unwanted material without removing too much water at the same time.
All Rhinox Buckets are manufactured with a serial number badge between the hangers or on the back of the bucket. This badge states the Product Reference and the Serial Number for that bucket and assists us with tracking when it was made and which of our welders made it. As well as, who it has been sold to and where it is going.
This also allows you to keep track of which bucket belongs to you if you are working on a site with multiple operators and machines. You could even use the badge to help with organising and storing your equipment.
Why are there holes drilled into the front edge of the bucket? This allows you to fit a reversable bolt-on blade which adds additional strength to your bucket and protects the lip plate from wearing when digging in harsh environments. A bolt-on blade costs a fraction of the price of your bucket but can make your bucket last 10x longer by protection the edge from wearing back. Only Rhinox Grading Buckets 3 Ton and above have a drilled lip plate.
Currently, Rhinox manufacture Grading Buckets / Ditching Buckets for 0.75 - 25 Ton Diggers / Excavators. These vary in size from 30 inches to 84 inches wide, for machine makes, such as: Bobcat, Kubota, Yanmar, JCB, Takeuchi and more.
